Stein Adler Secures Confirmation of Beth Din Arbitration Award

Stein Adler successfully confirmed a Beth Din arbitration award in Supreme Court of New York, Kings County after opposing a petition to vacate and cross moving to confirm the award. 

The challenge to the award raised a wide range of issues, including alleged procedural irregularities, bias, invalidity, and arbitral overreach, but Stein Adler partner, Jacob Lewin, with Law Clerk, Yael Amirian, demonstrated that the petitioner’s arguments amounted to an improper attempt to relitigate the merits and did not satisfy the high burden required to disturb a binding arbitration award. The Court denied the petition and granted the cross-motion to confirm, a meaningful result for our client, and a reminder that Article 75 review remains limited and that arbitration awards are not easily undone.
