Employment

Overview

Businesses, officers and key employees count on us to help navigate the full range of workplace issues in a complex and constantly evolving legal landscape.

We advise our clients at every stage of the employment lifecycle, from recruiting and talent acquisition to employee management, off-boarding and separation. We take a pragmatic approach to employment concerns, helping clients minimize risk, by implementing best practices and policies that promote a positive environment for all employees. When faced with litigation, a workplace crisis, or a government investigation, the members of our employment team are fierce advocates with an extensive track record of success in state and federal courts, arbitration forums, and in administrative proceedings brought by federal, state and local regulators.

  • We help employers meet the legal, compliance and HR challenges of the modern workplace. This includes advising clients on everything from onboarding and performance reviews, to discipline issues and employment terminations.

  • We represent clients in single, multi-plaintiff, class and collective actions in state and federal courts, and before arbitration forums. The range of matters we handle is diverse, and includes claims involving pay practices, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, restrictive covenants, disclosure of proprietary trade secrets, and whistleblower claims.

  • In-house counsel, boards of directors, executives, and management teams often consult us on a wide range of sensitive workplace issues, including harassment investigations, trade secret issues, employee competition and defection, and breaches of restrictive covenants.

  • We defend clients in administrative claims, audits and investigations before the NLRB, DOL, EEOC, New York State Division of Human Rights and New York City Commission on Human Rights.
